General Lonelyhearts, upon meeting his idol for the first time, enthusiastically informs Basher about how much he enjoys his work!
My name is Josh Weisbrod and I’m a senior film student at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. We’ve all been hard at work on our senior films this year, and it would be great if you’d come see the show (I’m pretty sure it’ll be a good show). To help you out of your house and into the theater, I thought it would be a good idea to make a website to publicize the film a little.
I’ve always had problems with obsession. Sometimes I worry about whether I can even enjoy something just a little, or if I’ll only be interested in something if I’m completely and utterly absorbed in it. So I made a film to sort of deal with that.
It hasn’t helped. Making a film is a process that encourages obsession, I s’pose.
The film itself deals with a character named General Lonelyhearts, who is obsessed in his own way with a reporter, Basher Rockaround. Rockaround is actually obsessed with himself as well, so they do have that in common.
The pre-production on it is just about done, so this isn’t going to deal with the progress of the film. Sorry, I can’t focus on more than one thing at a time. I will try to get you pumped and ready for the show, though.
